3-2-1 Update: Dec 8-12 by: Iain

3-2-1 update
This week I really didn’t enjoy it.  One thing I learned this week was 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times tables in multiplication.  It’s really fun. I learned that, say there’s 1 times 0- it will always be 0 and that 1 times 10 000 is going to always be 10 000.  Another thing I learned this week is some new French phrases.  One is joyeux noel which means Merry Christmas. And that bonne annee means Happy New Year.  One last thing I learned is that people liked our Christmas concert, even though I really didn’t.  Like I still don’t know what Yule means so I’m just glad it’s over because we practiced all week which was not fun.
One thing I enjoyed this week is playing mission impossible dodge ball I teamed up with Max, Avery and Olivia. It was fun. I got everyone but my team mates. One last thing I enjoyed this week is starting my poster for me and Coen’s social studies project we`redoing B.C we`re not done for our poster but getting there.

One goal I have is to learn our new questions in French.  So that’s my week.

Humane society donations

Some students ate collecting items for homeless pets this holiday season. We are looking for treats, toys and food to help the little guys! We are accepting any donations until Tuesday, December 16th. Thanks for your support!

Bag up Manitoba! How many bags?!

Well, the numbers have been tallied and we more than doubled our
bag count from last year!  Thanks to all the families at BHS, 6 570 bags have now been diverted from out landfills.  Amazing.

It took a lot of hours of sorting and counting, but we did it.  A big thank you to Mrs. Friesen, Ms. Davis and her grade 4 class and my grade 3s and 4s.  We couldn't have done it without you! I think we're all happy that those thousands of bags have moved along...until next year!

Thanks for your support and participation with this very important initiative!

Letter to our Troops

In honour of Remembrance Day, we wrote a letter to our troops.  Together, we wrote an introduction, and then each student (some still need to contribute!) added a personal message.

I think the students each wrote very touching and heartfelt messages.  We discussed just how important the veterans are to us as well as the soldiers currently serving.

Dear Canadian Troops,

Our class would like to thank you for all your hard work.  We appreciate you bringing peace and freedom to our country.  It's hard work being a soldier and you put a lot on the line for us.

Thank you for helping us.     -Madison

You are good and brave people.  You do good stuff for our country.  -Aidan

We are waiting for your return.  Stay strong!   -Rebecca

Our country is free because of you and your hard work.  -Max

Thank you for all your hard work for us.  -Jace

Thank you for protecting us and giving us peace.   -Kami

Thanks for your hard work, we couldn't appreciate it more.   -Carter

Thank you for freedom.  Thank you for fighting for our country.  -Sierra

Thank you for your bravery and making peace.   -Emmalee

Thank you for bringing peace to our country.  -MacKenzie

We are thankful for your hard work.  If you didn't go in to battle, we would not be here today.  -Iain

Thank you for protecting our freedom.  -Adrianna

You do good work.  You bring freedom and peace.  -Samuel

Thanks for giving peace and a free country.  -Kaitlyn

I'm glad we have you to keep us safe and sound.  Your mom must be proud.  - ?

Because of you we are here.  If it wasn't for you we wouldn't be here.  Thank you. Thank you. -?

This week at school was short, but with lots of things to do.

I learned to make a snow man portrait. It is fun and my snow man is a rapper.

Another thing I learned was how to play volley ball in gym.  It is so fun and we played a game where if you got a pass if you don’t catch it, you or eliminated from the game.

And I learned to sketch a bear.  It is fun my bear was good.

One thing that was fun was the snow man because I liked designing my snow man.

Another thing that was fun was doing my diorama.  It is where you had to search an animal.  My animal was the polar bear.  It is hard.

One thing I want to get better at is spelling.  I can practice by writing words that are hard for me.

3-2-1 Update: Oct 14-17 by: Zidane

3-2-1 update Oct 17/14
This week at school was very exhausting. One thing I learned was a little more about jot notes. Jot notes are something someone needs to know information from something and so they write the things from it that they need to know from it that is the most important info from it they need to remember.
Another thing I learned was how to say my birthday in French like mine is ving-cinq février, that’s the 25th in February. I really liked it because I learned my birthday and it was fun and easy. Another thing I learned was a tiny bit about a dragons blood tree because we all did some research about plants on computers in the computer lab and I did dragons blood tree.
Also we made fall-trees with puzzle pieces as the leaves and we painted a water colour background. I enjoyed the painting because this week I got to finish mine by gluing my rest of the puzzle pieces I painted to put on my tree. Another thing I enjoyed was the sub gym teacher in gym because he was fun nice and I liked him. There’s a goal I want to do. My goal this week is to try to participate more in class.

Bag Up Manitoba!

Our Teacher Librarian, Mrs. Friesen is heading the "Bag Up Manitoba" initiative at BHS this year.

We are once again collecting as many plastic bags as we can from Sept 30 until Nov 1.  Our grade four Green Team is assisting with making posters to promote this and by helping count the many, many, many plastic bags we receive!  We will receive a garden box for the school made out of recycled bags and the top 14 school will get a bench.  Let's strive for that new bench!

Last year at Birds Hill we collected just over 3000 bags.  Let's see how many more we can collect this year! 3500? 4000?

DID YOU KNOW?! Last year, Manitoba students diverted 1 347 000 plastic bags from landfill!!

How many can we divert at BHS? Start sending in your bags today!

3-2-1 Update: Sept 22-26 By: Olivia

My week was fun and went by fast.  I learned about Canada.  On a piece of paper we put things we know about Canada, and the things we wonder.  I knew a lot about Canada.  Something else I learned was in music.  I learned how to play on the recorder "It's in the Bag."  There is a lot of Bs and As but not so much of the Gs.  The grade 3s learned "Hot Cross Buns" and we learned "It's in the Bag."

One last things I learned was in French.  We learned the seasons and our age. The season is "l'automne."  But I keep forgetting how to say my age!

One thing I enjoyed was the Terry Fox Run.  I got 10 out of 13.  Next year I want to get all 13.  My friend got all 13.  One more thing I enjoyed was the Friday sketch.  We drew a sheep.  Lots of my friends said it was good and I had to help my friend Iain do the legs.  I really like my friend's sheep, her name is Rebecca.  My goal is to get better at French.

Sincerely,

Olivia

3-2-1 Update: Sept 15-19 By: Max

This week was kind of busy!  We had lots of guest teachers.  One thing I learned was francais! I learned the abcs, days of the week, months and seasons.  Today is vendredi!
Another thing I learned was to save Fred in science.  Fred is a gummy worm and he likes sailing on his boat but he doesn’t know how to swim and never wears his PFD. Finally, it happened.  Fred’s boat got capsized and the PFD was under the boat and we tried to get it.  Did we get it, or did Fred meet his doom?
One more thing we learned was more about bar graphs.  We did two and we each did our own question.  My question was “what is your favourite reptile?”  The choices were: komodo dragon, bearded dragon, crested gecko, fat tail gecko, leopard gecko, snake, and other.  Other won!
What I enjoyed was phys. ed.!  We won our silver sneaker award (choice class) and we played British Bulldog, Yoshi, Sleeping Lion, Spongee Polo and Swamp Ball!  I also enjoyed when Ms. Dodds gave us smile cookies!

My goal is to write quicker.

3-2-1 Update: Sept 8-12 By: Rebecca

I had an awesome and busy week at school.  One thing I learned is to say how are you in French which is comment ca va?  And you would answer: ca va bien, which means happy, ca va mal which means sad and comme ci comme ca which means I’m okay.
In math we did a bar graph.  My question was, what place do you want to go to? Most people chose Paris! In music we learned how to sing “Make New Friends.”

I enjoyed doing line art because we did lots of different designs.  Another thing I enjoyed was gym when we did the relay race.  It was fun.  One goal I have is to remember everyone’s names.  I think it will take a long time.  Thanks for listening to my awesome 3-2-1!

Terry Fox Run 2014

We had a scorcher of a day on Friday for our annual Terry Fox Run.  The students ran to support and continue Terry Fox's dream of raising money to find a cure for cancer.

Each student received a map of Canada before the 'race' began.  For each lap they completed, they received a stamp on a province or territory.  Some students ran all the way "across Canada"-13 laps! Wow!  Whatever their goals were, 3, 5 or 13 laps, they pushed themselves in the heat to reach them.

Thank you to the families that have sent in donations.  Our goal was to raise $1 per child and staff member in the school and we're well on our way to surpassing that goal.  We'll be accepting donations until Sept 30th.

I managed to snap a few pictures when the students weren't running, check them out below!

International Dot Day!

Yesterday was International Dot Day!  If you don't know what that is you can click here to learn more about it!

We read (re-read for most of us) the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds to get inspired by the main character, Vashti.  Vashti and her teacher tell us about the importance of encouragement, support and trying new things.

Yesterday, we created our own dots pictured below to let a little creativity flow.  We decorated our dots with our favourite things, people and anything that celebrates US.  I think dot day should be everyday!

School's in!!

Wow, what a great start to the school year!

It's only day two, but I have a great feeling about our class this year.  I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new families to our class blog.  I look forward to meeting you at our Open House next Thursday.

Here we try our best to update with student work, pictures and exciting things that we're doing at school.  The students are encouraged to come up with ideas for interesting blog posts and, together, we'll try to make them happen!

Here's to 2014/2015 being AWESOME!

Instrument Design!

To complete our unit on Sound, the students got to design their own instrument at home.  Their instrument was required to make two distinct pitches and have some form of volume control.  We had a great variety of home-made instruments!  Guitars, drums, whistles, flutes, xylophones, ukulele, shakers, and a banjo!

The students all did a fabulous job and exceeded my expectations.  Have a look at them presenting their instruments!

3-2-1 Update from May 20-23 by Aliyah

This week at school was short because we had a day off on Monday. Three things that I learned this week is in Art we started to learn and draw with Zentangles. I will tell you what they are they are hills and inside of them they have cool lines and shapes that are different from the other hills. So we started to draw them in sharpie and we had to make something on the ground and something in the sky!
The second thing I learned was in Heath we started a new subject on teeth. And we did a little experiment we got an egg and we had three of them and we put it in these things grape juice, Pepsi and last but not least, we had vinegar. So we left them for a day and I will tell you what they looked like.  The vinegar was all squishy and the shell came off. The grape juice was purple. And the Pepsi was brown and all of them looked disgusting. The last thing I learned was in Science we watched people present their science musical instrument. And we had to sign up for it and I choose to go on Wednesday because I don’t want to be first.
Two things I enjoyed this week was when we had 15 extra min to play outside and those days that we had were super-hot. And we got time off because people kept on talking out of turn. So the more we talked the less time we had to play outside. And the last thing I enjoyed this week was when we had TUSC we had to start it again after lunch because we had to do three extra things because some people were doing the wrong job. But my TUSC job was Healthy Snack and I did it on Strawberry’s and Oranges. I got to bring them in and share them with the class.
One goal I have for this week is in ELA because I want to not do run on sentences. And I can get better at that by practicing at home!

Cool Sandpaper/Papertowel Art with Mrs. Kulyk

Mrs. Kulyk came by today to do a special art class with us for part of the afternoon.  It was a very different project-we first drew with crayons on sand paper to start, filled them in really well with colour and then she ironed the image onto a paper towel.  They turned out beautifully!

321 weekly update may 5 to 9th

This week was fun and exciting.  The first thing I learned is that sound is very fast. And also that sound is faster in solids than gases and liquids. Another thing I learned is how to say how many people are in your immediate family. This is how you ask it, “combien de personnes est-ce qu’il y a dans ta famille?” The last thing I learned is that the Inuit have changed a lot. They went from eating berries and raw meat to pizzas and chips. Now they eat unhealthier because junk food costs less. One thing I enjoyed is music Monday because we Skyped with Chris Hatfield and somebody in Vancouver and newfound land and Toronto. That’s the first thing I enjoyed.

The second thing I enjoyed is gym we tested how good we did push-ups and curl-ups. We also did pinny tag what you do is run around in a square and try not to get caught. My goal is to write more and more every time.

3-2-1 update April 28-May 2
This week at school was amazing. J
In French we learned a new question. Comment s’appelle ta mere, soeur, ton pere and frère. It means what are your mom’s name, dad’s name, brother’s name and sister’s name.
Another thing I learned was social studies! We learned about Inuit art and inuksuk’s. For the art we learned what it’s made of. It’s made of different stones and the art is usually a spirit or a person.
One more thing I learned was in science. We learned how sound waves look when they are loud, soft, high or low. If it’s loud the waves are tall, if it’s soft the waves are little. If it’s high the waves are high the waves are close together and if it’s low the waves are far apart.
One thing I enjoyed was the handball tournament! My team did well and lots of my friends were there from outside of school. If we do it next year I’m going to do it again, and I hope my friends go too.
One more thing I enjoyed was gym. We did a lot of basketball stuff. I like doing basketball because it’s one of my favourite sports. I hope we do more!
My one goal for this week is to do my home reading. I read a lot but I don’t write it down.

Thursday 24 April 2014

Manitoba Museum Field Trip

Our class took our first field trip on April 22nd to the Manitoba Museum.  We got to learn even more about the Inuit in Inuit: People of the North and more about Sound for Science.  And...we got to have some fun while we learned!  Check out some pictures from our day and be sure to read Bruce's 3-2-1 review of our trip.  Enjoy!

Manitoba Museum Field Trip
Inuit:
In the Inuit part I learned what the Inuit eat, what they use as tools and Clothes. I learned that the Inuit eat Beluga Whales, Seal and Caribou. I learned that they use Inukshuks, the kudlik and the ulu.
I learned that they use caribou skin and seal skin to make parkas and mukluks.
Sound:
In sound I learned about an object, it’s called oobleck. It’s not a liquid or a solid. It’s really cool.
I enjoyed:
I enjoyed learning about the Inuit because it’s exciting. I enjoyed seeing the oobleck because it was cool to see what it was.
I wonder:

I wonder how you make the oobleck?

3-2-1 update April 21-24 by Sara

This week was wonderful and lots and lots and lots of fun
In ELA we listened to Ms. Dodds read, “Matilda.” Yesterday Matilda did a really big prank on her family she brought her friends parrot home without anyone seeing except her friend.  She hid the parrot in the house and the parrot started talking and Matilda’s family didn’t know who was talking and Matilda said there is a crook in the dining room. And then they all went into the dining room and there was no one there. But they still were hearing someone talking and then Matilda said oh no I think it might be a ghost and then everyone started screaming. And that’s what we heard in Matilda.
In art we are sketching flowers.  We’re making art that has flowers on it. We practiced sketching flowers and we had to practice a lot but I really, really like drawing flowers. And now that I've practiced a lot I'm really good at drawing flowers. We are going to paint the flowers with water colour paint it will make it look really good at the start we had to tape our paper down. We did some other stuff on it but it is kind of hard to explain.
In gym we played badminton we learned a tip for when your serving. You don’t swing the badminton all the way behind you; you just keep it simple and keep it in front of you. I love playing badminton.

I enjoyed gym because I love to play badminton. I also enjoyed art because the art that were doing is simple and it will look great in the end.

My goal is to keep bringing my 3-2-1 in because I am getting a little bit good at it.

3-2-1 Update by Jaxon

3-2-1 update April 14-17
This week we had lots of stuff to do. It was so fun this week though. I learned how our ears work, it was so fun. It looked so cool when we watched the video on our ears.  We also did a quiz together about the video, we got 8/10.I learned how to read the ‘avril’ poem in French- it was so hard. But other than that it was fun because I got to work with a partner. I learned about what the Inuit eat now and how they ate back then.  Before they ate only seals, caribou, berries and polar bears and now they eat pizza, bread, vegetables and snack foods.
One thing I enjoyed was writing our Haiku poems.  It was fun because we got to think about spring in our minds first, then we got to write about it.  Another thing I enjoyed was gym class when we played angry bird tag.  We haven’t played it in a long time, so I had fun!

My goal for this week is to get better at typing.  I can practice at home to meet this goal.

3-2-1 weekly update April 7-11th By Arden

This week was busy, we did lots of stuff! Well, it was the week back from spring break! And I’m kinda sad because spring break is over L. But the good thing is we are moving on with the year, and soon it will be summer and this torturing will be over! So I should move on, to talk about our week.
In ELA we learned voice writing. And we got to pick a food to describe in the grocery store! And for the anniversary we had to write about our favourite memory of your whole life in BHS from kindergarten, to now. and when we were doing ELA, we got to watch Silverwing! That was a book we read, it`s good!
In math we learned two strategies. I don’t know how to explain! HONESTLY! But I still know them.
In gym we did badminton and we learned how to hold our rackets the right way, and to throw and, hit the birdie the right way. And then we played volleyball with a huge beach ball!
In science we learned how vibrations make sound, example: if you talk, your voice comes out of your voice box and as it passes your vocal cords, and when it passes your vocal cords it vibrates them, causing it to make sound and vibrations make sound. Easy.
2 things I enjoyed were firstly, gym because the big beachball and secondly, ELA because while we were doing ELA we were watching Silverwing!

My goal for next week is to work on my strategies.

3-2-1 update

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!! (YAY)
One thing we did was write a descriptive paragraph about an object in the classroom with your partner. My partner was Aria and Arden, and we wrote about a pencil sharpener. Since it was Monday I was kind of was daydreaming about this creepy video about a plane.
One more thing I learned was how to make polar bear art. First you trace your polar bear with a stencil on this sticky piece of paper. Then, you draw a horizon to separate the land and sky and plaster your bear on your art. After you finish that, you paint your sky purple and your land crystal clear blue and you can add a sunset or a moon. Or you can add both!! Just like how I did.
One last we did was mapping the great lakes. I don’t really like social studies, but it’s fine if I really have to. I like colouring the lakes in even if that has nothing to do with mapping. I kind of like to make everything I do have a bit of art in it.
One thing I enjoyed was polar bear art. Like I said, I try to put art and… My best into everything I do. That’s why I really… REALLY like art. Plus I really liked the texture on my moon. Because it looks like it’s behind clouds.
One more thing I enjoyed was the assembly because I was one of the ukulele kids in the assembly. Our group played “On Top Of Spaghetti”.

One goal I have for next week is to really work harder on my 3-2-1. Because I still didn’t complete my goal from last week.

March 28 Assembly by Sam

Today we had an assembly and I announced for it along with three other people. The assembly was short, about one period long (about 35 minutes). I think we all did really well and we all spoke six times. Our assembly was about sustainability and how to clean up the Earth. And almost all of the kids spoke in front of the microphone. It is really easy to talk in front of the whole school. It was really fun, for all of us I hope. First we said our names, second we called up the principal. Next Mr. Oliphant shared a ukulele song, “On top of spaghetti.” Next we called up the spin club. Next we listened about bus patrols. Next Mrs. Knoll shared a song called, “Water Waster.” And I can go on and on about the assembly but I’ll wrap it up.

Boys' Choir by Matthew

On Monday March 10, the Bird’s Hill Boys’ Choir went to Westminster church for the Winnipeg music festival. When we got there we listened to 2 of the other choirs. After then we went to the back of the church to warm up. After we warmed up we went on to the stage. It was scary because there were about 48 different sets of eyes. We sang 2 songs and they were, “The Drunken Sailor” and “Prairie Sprite.” After we sang the 2 songs we had to wait for the adjudicator to finish writing the forms and notes. She said we needed to practice the Drunken Sailor, but she loved Prairie Sprite. She heard Prairie Sprite 4 years ago. On the bus Mrs. Knoll read the comments and she said we got SILVER.

3-2-1 Update: March 3-7 by Sydney

This week was fun and really busy.

In science we watched a Bill Nye called “Light Optics”. It was the best one yet.  We all had to do 2 pages and it was like the ones were you have to fill in the blanks and after the video we had to draw a little picture that we saw in the video and label it all.
In choir the girls went to the church and they had the music festival and we won. I'm in the girls’ choir and we won silver.
In gym we had floor hockey and we won and it was with our class. We all had to switched and play other teams with the colours blue witch I'm in, red, yellow and green squads.
One thing I enjoyed was having our Winter Olympics all day Wednesday.  I really enjoyed this because I liked my group members and my group leader and the games were fun.
The second thing I enjoyed was watching Bill Nye in science.  I really enjoyed it because he makes it fun and easy to learn about light and other things.

My goal for next week is to type faster.  I will do this by typing at home.

3-2-1 Update by Matt

3-2-1 update
This week at school was totally crazy. We had to do lots of stuff. One thing I learned was some facts of times 7. I totally suck at it I’m not good at high numbers.
One more thing I learned was all about apostrophes. Here are some examples: ‘I have’ would be ‘I’ve.’ I don’t know how I got so good at them.
The third thing I have learned this week is convex lens and concave lens. Convex lenses makes light in the world smaller and concave lens makes it BIGGER.
One thing I enjoyed was in gym we played curling boys vs. girls. of course the boys won because we had way more players then the girls.
The second thing I enjoyed was making our French book I have done one page and the word is comment ca va.  I liked this because it’s fun drawing the pictures and learning how to spell the words.
My goal is to get way faster at my three two one. It took me like 30 minutes to finish.

This week at school was awesome! In math, we practiced for are math test. I hope I do well but if I don’t I’ll be sadL. Our math quiz is addition and subtraction which I’m good at both. I love math but a math test is something I don’t love. In science, WE MADE A PERISCOPEJ!!!!! It was super fun to make it! We get to finish decorating it soon. We used mirrors, two milk cartons, tape and paper towels. IT WAS AWESOME to build our periscope. I had sooooo much fun! In art, we did another element of art. We did colour and we made a colour wheel. I couldn’t keep up with Miss Dodds but when I did… she was done, I was tooJ!
Two things I enjoyed were our Valentine’s day  party and gym. In gym, we did some more spongee polo and we did FLOOR HOCKEY!!!!!!! The spongee polo was cool like always, but the floor hockey was AWESOMASING, and the party, the party was awesome! The snacks were awesome! We watched the Olympics. They were cool!
One goal I have is to study for our math test. I hope to meet this goal by this weekend.

It's I Love to Read Month!

February is the official I Love to Read Month!  At BHS, students are encouraged to do as many reading related activities as possible this month.  There is a calendar available in January's newsletter that is printable showing all the activities.  I will link that here: January Newsletter.  Students can complete some of the activities at home, and there are some (in bold) that will take place at school.  As they do each activity, they need an adult's initial to verify.  Happy Reading!!

3-2-1 by Noah Jan 27-31

3-2-1 update January 27-31

This week at school was awesome! In Math, we did a powerbuilder. I did ok I at it, I can do better. We also did more multiplication, but this time we did × 10 and × 5. I found it’s easier because I know that 10 × 2 =20 so if the question is 5 × 2 = 10. It is half of the times ten number. In French, we played buzz but counting in French. Buzz is a fun. I’m pretty good at it. We also learned a new question “Quel est ton sport prefere?” and you answer like this “Je prefere ______. In Health, we did a human knot. The girls were good at it the boys… not so much. We also did more friendship stuff!

Two things I enjoyed were gym and music. In gym, we had free time!!!!!!!!! J We played 10 second tag, snake pit and great wall of China. In music, we did a group body rhythm. I was with Sam, Aliyah and Anna.

One goal I have is to get faster at powerbuilders. I hope to meet this goal by March.

3-2-1 Jan 20-24 by Abbey

Better late than never, here's last week's 3-2-1 from Abbey!

3-2-1 Update
This week was extremely busy! In ELA we started doing hand writing. We started doing “a” for our first letter. I am so excited to really get in to hand writing!
In Math we started doing Multiplication and DivisionJ Since we started doing Multiplication and Division it was kind of easy.
In science we learnt refraction. Refraction is a bending of light. We tried some experiments with light. Here are experiments. How does light travel? We used 2 papers with holes, a flashlight, a paper with no holes and plasticine.  It travels by a straight line. What does light do to a pencil in water?    It’s an illusion.  The pencil appears soft, bent and bigger.
I enjoyed gym.  We were starting to do a routine with a partner.  My partner is Sydney.  She is really good at gymnastics.  She is a great friend.  So far our routine is great and really interesting.
Another thing I enjoyed was in music.  In the morning the boys went to their choir practice.  In the afternoon the strangest thing happened, our class had music again.  The boys were upset to be in music again.  The girls were laughing.
One of my goals is to get better at writing.  My second goal is to work harder.

Day of Pink

At Bird's Hill School, we fully support the anti-bullying movement.  April 9th is a special day to take a stand against bullying.  We wear pink in solidarity to take a stand against bullying.  The Red Cross is offering shirts to BHS for only $5.00 to encourage everyone to support a worthwhile cause.  Check out their website at  www.redcross.ca/PinkMB‎ to read more about Day of Pink initiatives in Manitoba.

T-shirt orders are due on Tuesday, January 28th and orders will be received in March.  All funds raised through t-shirt sales goes to educating Manitoba youth to respond and prevent bullying.

Let's take a stand against bullying and stand for respect.

Reading Takes Flight

Our class was super excited today when we heard about an exciting opportunity (thanks to Ms. Wasney!).  The Winnipeg Jets are once again participating in "I Love to Read Month" in February through their 'Reading Takes Flight' initiative.

All classes are eligible to enter to have a representative from The Jets come and read to their class!  We are going to write our 300 word entry next week so make sure you're all thinking of great reasons why they should come read to us!
