Habitats Design Projects

Our Habitats and Communities unit has come to an end.  Last week we had our final presentations of our habitat design projects.  We had such a variety of animals and habitats, and the students took a lot of care in recreating each carefully.  Our room was very busy for those few weeks, and jam-packed with dioramas (and a poster!).

The students each presented their projects and explained to their classmates their animals habitat, predators and prey and its adaptations.  They were also able to take questions from their classmates about the project.  They sure did become experts on their animals!

Also, check out our Animoto slide show of our presentations!

A Belated Congratulations!

Last week the grade 4 and 5 choir sang at The Winnipeg Music Festival.  They sang "Carrion Crow" and "Over Sea to Skye."  They sang beautifully and received fantastic reviews from the adjudicator.  Ms. Knoll worked very hard with the choir and it paid off...they received a Gold!  Congratulations singers :)

Here are some slightly blurry
pictures from the performance!

TWAS
Dear dad,
This week at school we did math in math we did power builder.  It  was awesome we also did time tables and then we did multiplication all this was fun.
This week in ELA we did computers.  We also did reading and writing.  In writing we wrote from the voice of our animal from science.  We also did some word work.
In science, we did our science presentations.  I found it interesting that so many people chose different animals.  I really enjoyed Nick’s presentation on the rock wallaby.
