3-2-1 Update: Feb 23-27 By: Kaitlyn

This week at school was good and really fun.
One thing I learned was how to play “ice age” in music. I like it because I like recorder.  Another thing I learned was the end of “trolls”. I like it because it is a great song. One last thing I learned was what wolf ears means in silver wing. Shade thought it meant a real wolf but it was really two mountains.
One thing I enjoyed was the assembly.  I liked it because it was really good. I had a part in it. I got to say a reading quote. Another thing I enjoyed was having little buddies.  I enjoyed this because Mackenzie is my partner.

My goal is to practise multiplication this week. I will do this by practising at home.

Guest Reader!

How lucky are we?  To further celebrate I Love to Read month, we had Megan Batchelor from Global News came to read to our, and Ms. Davis' classes today! She read us two books:

Great listeners!
They were both excellent books and I think we'd all recommend them!

Megan Batchelor

Afterwards, she let us ask questions about her job at Global.  We learned that she wakes up at 3:00a.m. to go to work!  We also learned that she has naps during the day (we would, too!).  She has lots of practicing and preparation to do before she reads the news for 3 hours every morning. She has a very interesting and fun job!  I'm sure a few of us would like to have that job someday.

Thank you to Megan for coming to read to us today!!

I Love to Read

Today rooms 26 and 27 hosted our I Love to Read Assembly.  We shared all the usual things at the assembly but additionally we shared some great quotes about reading and a song prepared by the 3s and 4s called "I Love to Read."  I even had the chance to read the finished progressive stories to the whole school!  How interesting to see how they all turned out!  I think they were pretty funny and very wacky!

Our 2 MCs did a fantastic job!

And here are our quote readers ready in the front row!  Great job guys!

D.E.A.R.
We ended our assembly with a full school D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read).  It was great to see everyone enjoying their books at the same time.

Great job today everyone!

3-2-1 Update: Feb 2-6 By: Coen

This week at school was busy.
One thing I learned was how to play Monster Math Munch (MMM).There are four monsters. I was the red monster. The first person that gets the cookie first wins.
Another thing I learned was how to round to the nearest ten. So if you round 55 it goes to 60. And if you are rounding 278 it’s 280.
One last thing I learned was how to do Heart Art in art. The inside of my heart is going to be cool colors, and on the outside warm colors.
One thing I enjoyed was the mini curling tournament. My team played 2 games. The people on my team were Sam, Me, Aidan and Carter W.
I liked it because after our games we got to go inside and watch movies.
Another thing I enjoyed was Hats off to reading! But I forgot to wear a hat! L One person even wore a hockey helmet!
I didn’t enjoy this because I forgot to wear a hat.LLLLLL
My goal for this week is spending more time with my family.

I will do this by playing board games, making stuff, etc.
