T.W.A.S. by Alyssa S.

T.W.A.S
This week at school we went on our field trip we went to Stonewall Quarry Park.  Our guide, Sheldon, was teaching us all about fossils. First, he taught us about the Ordovician Sea and how it used to be all water there in Stonewall.  He also taught us about the rock cycle and this is how it goes:

Oh and igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary aren’t the same.  They’re all formed differently.  On our field trip we learned that limestone makes powder.  They used these building, called kilns, to burn limestone into powder.
At the end of the field trip we got to find fossils.  They were so small that we barely find any! But we did find some.  They were mostly shell fossils and just rocks with bumpy sides on them.  It was a fun day!  And then we got on the bus back to school and still had our recess.
