On Tuesday, Jan 22, the students from grades 4-6 participated in Abilities Awareness Day. Mrs. Tomchak, from our resource team, arranged for special guests to run seven centres to educate the kids on differing abilities. The kids were facinated and surprised by what they learned through their experiences. The seven centres covered: fine Motor,
vision, learning disabilities, cognition, mobility, speech and language, and
hearing. The animoto video shows some of the students in a few of the centres. What a great way to develop awareness, empathy and acceptance of all ranges of abilities!
